The sun came peeking out yesterday and it was unseasonably warm for a bit. I managed to break away from the madness long enough to plant the barberry bush. Right now, it looks like a baby bonsai barberry bush. Hopefully by the summer or the summer after that, it will be big and protective of our side window. Was utterly surprised to find a holly plant back there too. I don't remember it being there!

Well, I certainly didn't need that today -- going to pour a cup of coffee only to discover the hard way that there's a huge gaping hole in the side of the cup. OW.
