Spent a good portion of the morning catching up on a virtual reunion. See, me and a bunch of ladies started a mailing list (which became what I can only describe in more modern terms: an online community) close to a decade ago now, long before there was the web as we know it, long before ICQ and e.commerce and so on and so forth took hold and commercialized the internet, when SLIP accounts were a relative novelty and Mosaic was a brand new program we couldn't figure out exactly what to do with.
It took reading everyone's posts to realize that what we did was pretty pioneering, collecting women from all walks of life with one major thing in common (Star Trek fans). The Trekkie fandom has mostly fallen away by now, leaving us as simply an incredible diverse bunch of women with a truly amazing history and endless pool of knowledge. If I don't say so myself:
We rock.
