There are times when I wish that my brain had an Off switch (or at least a Sleep setting like any good computer does these days), so that the times I need to sleep the most desperately aren't sabotaged by an overactively awake mind, thinkingthinkingthinking about the week to come, about getting older, promises of a brand new year to get it right this time, saying
au revoir to a mostly pathetic and forgettable year and a whole raft of other stressful ponderances.
Naturally I have an interview today with an office-type placement agency. Oh, yeah, I'll sure be at my best after a fractured night sleep totalling about 4 or 5 hours.
