five thousand shades of blue

I was awakened during the night by the smell of wood smoke. I didn't see smoke, so my hazy sleep-addled brain immediately thought, "Someone must have fired up their wood stove." Never mind that that doesn't make sense for August, that just last week our nights were smotheringly hot.
I awoke this morning to the heavy smell of wood smoke still. As I was driving I saw that the valley was hazy with smoke. Something was on fire.
Namely, 400+ acres of forest, about 20-25 miles west of me, around Walton, OR. No word on the status of the blaze, if it's been contained (news reports today say they were pretty confident that it would be by Sunday). I sure am glad I'm not asthmatic.
Cough, cough.
is
this just not enough…?
