good news

The interview went well — actually, it wasn't much of a "real" interview, as I just answered a few questions they had about my attitude and my basic knowledge of Windows. I was tested on my customer service knowledge and skills and also a basic tech test about Windows (I scored 31 out of 33 questions right. Not too bad for an avowed Mac Girl™.).

So … I start my new job on Monday. Eeee. I'm actually looking forward to using my brain in challenging ways again. Too much of my brain has been taken over by memorizing (through rote) customers' regular drinks. ;) Being a female, I will certainly be in the minority (I was the only one at my little Orientation yesterday).

One of the first things that will happen after the paychecks start rolling in will likely be to get cable internet at home. I'd prefer DSL to be honest, but I don't think we can get it brought to the house for some reason (Qwest previously told me "no" but claimed to not know why. That seems very stupid, dontcha think?).

One last hurdle: getting the mess with the EMC™ sorted out for good. The 'solution' we found in September was unfortunately only a temporary one. Going for the refinance again, and this time, we're armed with two incomes. Keep those fingers crossed. :)
