quarterly checkup
- I have been unemployed now for a week. The miracle did not occur and our site was closed down. I had an interview on Tuesday for another call center job, and they offered me the job, starting on the 25th. I also have an interview for a graphic artist position on the 21st, and just submitted a resume for a website designer position. Obviously these sorts of jobs would be much preferred. =)
- We're moved. Just a few short days after my last post, we found out that we had to be out of the house by closing. Fourth of July weekend was spent crazily packing up the majority of the house, then putting it into a truck, then finding a storage unit to move it into, and oh yes, securing a place to live (a rental house). It was the absolute worst week in recent memory but here we are. It's not the best house — in fact, we suspect it was remodelled by someone majorly sucking a bong — but we are able to get DSL here, and the DSL modem broadcasts wireless, so I can sit on the couch and write this. And we can have the cats.
- Trip in July to visit my family (and attend my grandmother's 80th birthday party) was awesome. So many of my family members were there, some of whom I had not seen since my sister's wedding in '95. At the party itself, all 26 of the grandchildren posed for a photo with Grandma. And then there was the trip with my niece, nephews, mom, sister, brother and his girlfriend to Fantasy Island. We got poured on, but we had a great time.
- I upgraded to OS X Panther back in April. I <3 it. I've also been redesigning stuff in Dreamweaver. This page is next.
- I should be hearing soon about getting a CAT scan of my sinuses, as I've now been on prescription Zyrtec for 2 months now and the headaches have not really abated. I had an awful headache last weekend. Since I am tired of being drained all of the time and feeling like a salted slug, I want to see what's going on inside of this head of mine. The only bummer is that my insurance runs out at the end of October, so if the diagnosis is chronic sinusitis, I go through the minimum 3 week antibiotic course, and I don't have 7 symptom-free days, surgery would be the next option. At that point I will be insurance-less.
- Since being out of work, I've gotten into the bad, bad habit of staying up way the hell too late.
Ok, for real this time, I hope to update more frequently.
is
this just not enough…?
