Bye bye baby(originally written 17 Sept '09, 8:13 pm)
Haven't posted in a while--nearly two years, in fact. A lot has happened since then: my mom passed away on 30 June 2008 (very major, rather devastating); my brother got married a few weeks ago; I've stayed at the same job (over 2 years now!). I miss the days of writing blog entries but I'm just so busy... and find that I like the more community feel of LiveJournal and Facebook. I think it's safe to to say that this blog could probably be considered retired.
Mostly I'm posting now because I know there are still a few people who check here occasionally. Tomorrow the vet's coming to usher the oldest kitty, Rowan, out of this existence and over the Rainbow Bridge. I'm gonna miss her terribly.

Rowan went quickly and quietly here at home. The vet and her assistant were wonderful; we're just glad we did not have to further traumatize Rowan in having to bring her to out of the house (she had a terror of cat carriers). She's now buried in the back corner of a friend's yard--pretty funny considering she hated traveling--among other kitties who have also gone along ahead of us. Many tears were shed, though we knew it was the best thing to do for her. She was 15 when she left us.
I still miss her goofy little fuzziness. Nefret, the kitten, has taken up the mantle of being the lap kitty and the demon kitty.
And as for retired, well, one never knows.
