bad blogger, no biscuit
Weekend was glorious in its mundanity. Sleeping in (much happiness); lounging on the couch (providing a suitable surface for a sleepy cat, you know); catching up on "CSI" (Grissom with a beard? What is UP with that??) and so on. Did a little shopping too. Found some low carb pasta at Trader Joe's and had pasta as part of dinner on Sunday night. Inexplicably, after the carb-fest that was pasta and tomato sauce, the scale read 136 lbs on Monday morning — the lowest that scale has ever read. (My home scale and the doctor's scale don't agree, and the doc's always reads lower. I don't trust it.) Go figure.
After taking my antibiotics for almost a week, and getting a progressively worse itchy-skin condition, the nurse at my doctor's office recommended I stop taking them. Unfortunately I am beginning to suspect that the infection was not thoroughly wiped out in those 7 days and feh, I'm gonna have to call the doc's again.
Am still sad, sad, sad about
Robert Palmer's death on Friday. Only 54. :(

et cetera
1) This is my tenth day in a row of working. But who's counting. (Okay, 9.5, if you want to take into consideration that I left at 1:30pm on Monday. But I went home and did house maintenance type things, like laundry, dishes, bills. It's not as if I sprawled on the couch and watched "Murder, She Wrote" all day.)
2) After suffering with a headache for 2 weeks straight, and fatigue, and then itchy eustachian / swollen tubes, I dragged my ass to a doctor's and was diagnosed with a sinus infection. So now I am on antibiotics and tired on top of having worked like a bitch.
3) I did not get the job I applied for with Holt. Bummer.
4) The journal I started in 1994 just before moving to California, which I have written in sporadically since then, is almost finally out of paper. This is weird, having to think about replacing it.
5) I promise to try to update more. :)

gah
I was in quite a state this morning when I could find neither hide nor hair of my cat Rowan. I looked everywhere three times, including under the bed… where she later emerged from. I swear, there's a door to an interdimensional wormhole under that bed. When I get home, she's getting a stern talking-to (after I snuggle the bejeebus out of her).
'Twas two years ago that I
fell down went boom. I still have backaches. :P

feh
(I tried mailing this to myself via the new post-to-email service, and got a blank message. Underwhelmed.)
Weekend was a bit frustrating. Didn't get enough done; didn't relax enough. Saw the terrible
Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (thank goodness it was only $1.50 to get in!), did lots of overdue laundry, did some shopping, watched some more episodes of CSI on dvd. Slept for like 11 hours on Saturday night and it felt GOOOOOOD.
No weekend this upcoming week. It's
that time of year again.

ow
My legs hurt like hell. Peristant aching that abates for a moment when I stretch, but then dully aches immediately afterward. Possibly potassium related, I'll have to look into maybe V8.
EMC™ has their money. I have my house off of the foreclosure block. I am also much poorer. Let's all hope that the resumé I mailed out today yields some results. There's also a possibility of renting out another room. J, the current roommate, has a friend that needs a room. That would be nice, because it would increase the money inflow without increasing my workload.
Thinking I will head out soonish and take a soak in a hot tub. Hmmmm.

much the same, only not
I said it all, pretty much,
last year. Time marches on. Pain may fade but never really goes away. I hope those who perished two years ago are proud of the way we've gone on. (I'm not entirely sure they might be.)
On a lighter note, things continuing to move on with the house, approved plan, payment due tomorrow (date moved up due to their error). Can make the payment but don't know about the rest of our bills. :P I still don't know what to do about the fact that I can't find a lender, even though my dad jumped through all of the hoops and qualified every step of the way. Sigh.
We no longer have three cats. Thor, the new boy we'd taken in at the end of May, is a hyperactive rampant teenager compared to the two girls, Rowan and Arwen, who are now middle-aged bitties and want None of That, Thank You. He rarely gave them a minute's rest and we had to keep him shut in the office overnight (with food and a catbox, of course) because a.) he's talkative all the time when he's awake and b.) I don't like cat chases at 2am, especially when they run right over me. So J., the roommate, found a co-worker of hers who wanted him, and she came to pick him up last night. He'll now have a cat-loving dog and a four year old boy to play with, and he'll get to go outside, which I think he'll be happier about.
No word on the job with Holt. I think that's a wash. I also sent out an email to a company looking for "freelance web designers" (copy-pasting into templates? I can so do that) but no reply, yet. I'm just a ray of sunshine, aren't I? :)
(I need to update more.)

not much to update
Things are moving along on the home front, literally. We are now in a 'forbearance payment plan' and have to pay a big chunk by next Wednesday. Whee.
Monday I was in a big funk about my lack of income and lack of creative work. We spent some time on Monday scanning in artwork in preparation to make a postcard mailer. And then on Tuesday not only did I receive an unexpected check from a company I do work for, I was contacted by a friend of a friend about doing some illustration. It was a real pick-me-up.
This weekend is a camping trip with some friends… not modern camping but not quite SCA either. Should be good. Lots of lounging around and snacking. My kind of weekend!
If the east coast could send me some rain, I'd surely appreciate it. It's muggy, and the air is like pea soup with forest fire haze (not close to hear, just blowing from the eastern part of the state).
is
this just not enough…?
