i am a meat popsicle
I have no idea what that means, or where it came from, but it makes me chuckle.
So we found out Wednesday that the outsourcing company I work for will no longer have the Symantec contract as of August 23rd. So that means unless A Miracle Occurs™ and some other company contracts with us for support enough to fill at least one-third of the building, the site will likely close. Never fear, we are already on the stick looking for new jobs. And gods know I didn't want to do this forever, but it's still a little stressful. (What's more stressful is that I better get my time-off that I requested for mid-July to visit my family.)
We still don't have a new place to move to but have a promising lead. I hope it works out.
I hate being so far behind on what is supposed to be my "fun" work and replying to friends — which in turn makes me guilty. Forgive me.

she lives
So. Ahem. It's been quite a long time since I posted last.
In overview:
- Work is still eating my life. This is all I'll say. And of course now that I'm 9-to-5-ing, I'm getting quite a few pings for illustration, web design and so on. Figures.
- Selling the house. The final attempt to refinance fell through at the last minute. Decided that the stress dealing with the EMC™ was just not worth it anymore, so this is a good thing, actually. Though the finding a new place to live and moving part is going to suck big time.
- Got to visit my sister, her family and my parents again in March. Am going back east in mid-July for a big family reunion / 80th birthday party for my grandmother (let's forget for the moment that her birthday was actually in January. Who wants to visit the Northeast in the winter?).
- My head is still all messed up. I'm currently on yet another course of antibiotics.
I will try to be better about posting stuff here.
Maybe now I'll attempt to read up a bit on the links from this page. Oy.
is
this just not enough…?
